District Governor
Andy Li
Dear Fellow Rotarians, Rotaractors and Friends,
It is with great pleasure and profound gratitude that I extend a warm welcome to you all to the 64th District Conference, the highly anticipated event of Rotary International District 3450. As we convene here, I am filled with a deep sense of pride and achievement for the collective successes we have attained. This conference publication stands as a testament to our shared dedication and the profound impact we have had on our communities.
Members are the cornerstone of Rotary. We have witnessed an unprecedented net growth of more than 200 in membership, thanks to the unwavering commitment of each Rotarian. By attracting passionate individuals who embody the ethos of service, we have expanded our Rotary family and enhanced our ability to effect enduring change. Through our unwavering support and generosity, we have raised over 1 million US dollars, enabling the Rotary Foundation to drive positive change on a global scale. As a District, we have achieved an optimal per capita giving, ensuring that our contributions directly benefit communities in need. Together, we are transforming lives and laying the foundation for a brighter future. We have effectively communicated the value of Rotary to the wider world, bolstering our public image and reputation. Through the interactive Governor’s Kitchen video series, we have shared the life journeys of our Past District Governors and senior Rotarians with our members, inspiring them to further their service to the community. With the launch of the Impact Database System, we anticipate that our collective efforts to create a lasting impact on the community will be well substantiated. Recognizing the significance of mental well-being, we have prioritized initiatives that promote emotional and mental health within our District. By raising awareness, providing resources, and fostering a supportive environment, we have placed a premium on the holistic well-being of our Rotarians, enabling them to thrive in all facets of life. Our steadfast commitment to vocational service has empowered individuals to make a meaningful impact in their respective professions. Through career expos, mentorship programs, and career development opportunities, we have nurtured a culture of excellence, integrity, and service in the workplace. In our pursuit of peace, we have laboured tirelessly to build bridges, foster understanding, and address the root causes of conflict. Our District has actively supported peacebuilding efforts, both locally and globally, recognizing that peace encompasses not only the absence of conflict but also the presence of justice, equity, and compassion. The youth represent our future, and we have invested in their development as compassionate leaders. Through initiatives such as Rotaract, Rotary Youth Leadership Award, Interact, and JuniorAct Clubs, we have provided platforms for young individuals to cultivate their leadership skills, embrace service, and spark positive change within their communities. Embracing the diverse tapestry of humanity, we have prioritized diversity, equity, and inclusion within our District. We have fostered an environment where every voice is heard, every perspective is valued, and every individual feels a sense of belonging. Together, we are shaping a Rotary that mirrors the communities we serve. The bond of fellowship lies at the heart of our Rotary family. Through a myriad of social events, service projects, and shared experiences, we have forged enduring friendships and a profound sense of camaraderie. It is this fellowship that inspires us, sustains us, and propels us forward on our service journey. It was a distinct honor to host Rotary International President Gordon Mclnally and Heather Mclnally during their visit to the three regions of our district in November 2023. We facilitated their meetings with Rotarians and Rotaractors, visits to government officials, local charitable organizations, and service projects. We left a lasting impression on them with our achievements in supporting the Rotary Foundation, growing membership, and organizing exceptional service projects. The District Conference represents the culmination of our collective endeavors and a celebration of our triumphs. Throughout this event, we will engage in stimulating sessions, partake in impactful workshops, and celebrate the remarkable work carried out by our Clubs. Let us seize this opportunity to learn from one another, forge new connections, and reignite our passion for service. As we gather to commemorate our achievements, let us also recommit ourselves to the noble ideals of Rotary. While we have achieved great feats together, our work is far from over. Let us depart from this Conference inspired, invigorated, and prepared to Create Hope In The World! Yours in Rotary, Mr. Andy LI District Governor
